This is Dale's last control line flying scale model built before going into the United States Air Force in late 1950. It started out from a Cleveland kit that he highly modified for the two Atwood .49 Triumph glow engines.

It took one and half years to build. The aircraft has a fifty-five inch wingspan and weighs five and half pounds. The wings, fuselage and engine nacelles were covered with sheet balsa. The tail parts were made from solid sheet balsa.

The engine cowls were turned on a lathe out of laminated hardwood. The entire finish was done with Aero Gloss butyrate dope. Dale could not afford a spray gun, so he modified a "Fly Spayer" that had a glass jar. It worked great!
